Google Glass

I believe that trying to use google glass while driving is very ridiculous. This is redundant, the idea is very innovative, but the uses are dangerous. Something can pop up in the glass, make you lose sight of the road and kill someone. Why by this to use while driving when there are GPSs that do the exact same thing. Its worse than texting and driving. This should very much be criminalized.

GTA V

Personally this game is one of my favorites! Although the gameplay is great, you must respect the work and imagination that goes into creating such a game. GTA V world is so realistic, with the city of Los Santos being mirrored as modern day Los Angeles, California I picture the creators of this game did a lot of work trying to make sure that the players gained a simulated first hand experience through the state of California. The games main three characters from different walks of life all scene in California. You have the choice to be an ex-robber who is now rich, a meth addict red neck, or a repo man who is trying to change his life but always seems to steer off of his path. The fact that these are three very different character that you can control at anytime shows that the creators were trying to let you see the bad aspects of California and rises its way up to the most envied aspect of the state. Even the way the characters interact with each other shows evidence of deep observation in to west coast culture. Not only does it mirror California as a whole the creators also showed evidence of real life things happening in our nation now. In the city of Los Santos at points in the game it shows protests and closed stores that showed evidence of a recent recession.

Blog #6 Let The Blood Pour

The types of prop blood used in movies has a lot to do with the budget that the movie has. The earliest used prop blood in films were ketchup. Alfred Hitchcock used Bosco chocolate syrup because the movie Psycho. It was made in black and white so consistency and color did not matter. In TV shows the budget is shorter so blood does not look as real, but as the show gains views the budget will increase and blood is one thing that will be upgraded depending on how frequent blood is shown in the show. The same concept pretty much goes the same for movies just instead of viewers it is budgets. The more money the better the blood. Also the type of blood depends on how gory the film will be. If blood is shown more frequently then producers will be looking for a bigger budget to spend on more realistic prop blood. This also helps a producer determines exactly how much blood to by for each scene and re-shoots.

BLOG #5 - THE STRAIGHT-TO-DVD WORLD OF MOCKBUSTERS

I think mockbusters take away the creativity of filmmaking. Even if it is not the exact same, the movie is still uncreative. Channels like SYFY embrace these movies and I hate it because its like every week a new one pops up. Come up with your own ideas do not use the ideas of others and build off of it like its your own. The idea of filmmaking is coming up with your own ideas and putting them on tape. How can a film crew be proud of their work if they know the film will suck and it is a reimagining of another bigger movie. SYFY and other channels are promoting these filmmakers and I believe that it is ridiculous. They are making money off of someone else's concept and there are millions of independent filmmaker that have great concepts, but have no funding to get themselves out there. I think mockbuster movies are non creative, lazy, and roughly put together. These directors are not looking for progression, they are looking for a quick buck by a stupid channel that will fund whatever is put on the table. This plagiarism on film.

BLOG #4 - ONLINE PIRACY

I think online piracy has become a regular thing in Internet culture. Almost every album that comes out every year gets leaked or becomes available on a website a few weeks prior to the original release date. I am personally pro online piracy. With the increasing prices in movies tickets and even albums as a college student it is very easy for me to download a movie or album for free without feeling remorse for the artist or director because they are still making money off of their product. They should not be upset with the consumer/fan, they should be upset with the companies taking their products and adding a large price on them. Musicians do not even make that much money off of albums anymore. Most of their money stems from concert tours and endorsements. It is also the lack of government regulation of finding those who pirate these albums and movies. Or is it the fact that it is just not that important to them in their current state? All in all no one is really suffering from this, all of these musicians and creators are already rich. If it was affecting them that much then their would be some sort of public uproar for the government to do more to stop it from happening.

BLOG # 3 - Fix The Paper

I feel as though there is no way to help the newspaper industry sustain any longer than it is destined to be. I think this industry should die off because other, more modern, websites technologies have completely revolutionized every aspect of the newspaper. These new methods have made finding a job, obtaining information, and any other useful purpose the newspaper has a lot more convenient. You have job search engines like craigslist.com that replaced the classifieds in the newspaper. There are websites like yahoo news that have made the information aspect of the newspaper obsolete. If you think about any aspect of the conventional newspaper you will realize that there is a website that can do the exact same. Although the newspaper is still around because of the fact that an older generation is still around, but what happens when they die off? Who will fund these companies? The companies will be replaced by TV and Internet, but in the end the Internet will take both over.

I think in modern day society humans have become lazy. With the internet, cell phones, and Netflix utilizes this. Now it is evolving to books and literature. I think this is very cool, but it shows how reliant we are becoming towards the internet. The future of publishing and buying books will become an internet thing. With this new method of buying and many others that are already out there libraries and book stores will go out of business. Instead of leaving home to go to a library or your local Barnes & Noble just take a 10 minute search on one of these sites. Me personally, I would not be interested in one of these book services, but I may not have a choice, like I said this will put libraries and book stores out of business. I am very content with the library because it saves me money. I rather not own a book, read it, and let it sit in my home till I figure out what to do with it. Its not a movie, I do not read books more than once. I definitely think this is a waste of time and money, but because of the laziness of modern day humanity it will be a lucrative business.

Hi guys! My name is Mark Washington. I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I come from a military family, my mom and dad both served, so I spent a lot of time living with aunts and grandparents. I love to travel. I have been everywhere in the United states and I went to Dubai for vacation last New Years. The main places I hope to visit are Germany, Brazil, Columbia, and Tokyo. I do not look like the type, but I am really into comics and graphic novels. It is definitely a guilty pleasure. I am also a "hip hop head'. I honestly love the genre and I plan on pursuing a career in radio, so I can just play music and talk for a living. I do all my school work the day I get it just so I can go out at night. Its bad, but its me. I can not stand being inside doing nothing. I love to live life to the fullest. I have a tattoo that says so. Actually I have 9 tattoos and I love those too. That is honestly it, sorry I am a little bit of a boring person. lol
